Camp
Year 5 and 6 students have the opportunity to attend camp. Camp venues have previously included Camp Cooba near Cooma, Borambola near Wagga Wagga and The Tops Conference Centre near Wollongong.
Canteen
The Canteen is open Tuesday-Friday. A variety of lunches can be ordered on these days through the canteen. Orders should be written on paper bags with money enclosed and sent to the canteen at the beginning of the day via class baskets. Online ordering is available at www.flexischools.com.au.
The success of the canteen relies heavily on a successful volunteer roster system. We need your help and support and look forward to your assistance in the canteen.
Captains
Each year 6 students are elected to the leadership positions of two school captains and two vice captains. A rigorous process including a written application with referees and a speech delivered to their peers is used to select Year 6 students to each of these positions. These students are role models who promote the school values of honesty, excellence, fairness and respect in all they do. School Captains and Vice Captains represent and promote the school at events throughout the year.
Chinese Language Program
We are fortunate in being able to offer Mandarin as a second language with a native speaker Vicky Chen Magee as the teacher at Mount Rogers. Students in years 3 – 6 have a minimum of 1 hour of Mandarin language instruction each week. Our language teacher works closely with the classroom teacher to link the languages program to other aspects of the curriculum.
Concert
Every second year a major school concert is held featuring a performance from every child in the school. Parents and other family members are encouraged to attend the concert.
Counsellor
