Voluntary Contribution and Funding

The Commonwealth and ACT Governments provide the school funding each year to cover essential services for the basic functioning of the school.
The second major source of income is voluntary contributions from parents.  This money is used to help maintain and extend curriculum areas and provide extra materials and resources used in the library or classrooms.  During the year the school itself conducts fundraising enterprises and this money is also used to maintain and extend the curriculum and to support Student Representative Council initiatives.
At the end of each year the Board decides the suggested level of voluntary contribution for the following year.

The Voluntary Contributions are currently set at:

Contributions above the suggested amount can also be made.
Please note:   The payment of this financial contribution is voluntary.  The Education Act 2004 states that your child will not be refused benefits or services if you do not choose to contribute.  Individual records of contributions are confidential
(Section 27(2).)
The level of voluntary contributions will be determined by the School Board at the end of the year.
The Parents & Citizens Association also sees as one of its major functions the raising of funds to provide additional services for our children.  During the year several major fund raising events are held.  All money used by the school is subject to audit.  The School Board has the responsibility for assessing the school’s financial needs and deciding how available funds will be spent.
