Immunisation
All Year 6 students are given the opportunity to have a Rubella/Mumps/Measles vaccination, a series of Hepatitis B immunisations, cervical cancer immunisation and a Meningococcal vaccination.
Money Collection
The collecting, recording and receipting of money can be a time consuming exercise, so we ask that parents send money to the school by the day specified.
Money should be sent to school in a clearly marked envelope with the child’s name, class and the purpose for which the money is being sent, along with any accompanying permission note.
Payments can also be made through direct transfer into the school account.
Morning Lines
Our school day commences with a brief whole school Assembly. Students assemble in class lines on the main basketball court at 8.57 am for daily announcements. Parents are welcome to attend.
Mothers' Day Breakfast and Stall
We celebrate Mother’s Day at Mount Rogers by holding a family breakfast in the school hall the Friday before Mother’s Day. The P&C organises this special event with fathers doing the cooking and serving on the day. A stall selling Mother’s Day gifts is also organised by the P&C.
Moving Up Day
At Mount Rogers, all students (Years 1-6) will be involved in Moving Up Day. This occurs in the last week of Term 4 each year. This is a chance for students to be in their 'next years' class, with their 'next years' teacher, in their 'next years' classroom. We do our very best to ensure that our new teachers join us for the morning at Mount Rogers. All staff, including support staff, are involved in the Moving Up Day.
Our teachers see this as a wonderful opportunity to connect with their new class and team and find out as much as they can about each student whilst ensuring a smoother transition into the new school year. Executive staff monitor all classes and teams throughout the morning.
Music Tutor Program
The P&C Association sponsors and organises a Paid Tutor Music Program which is run by Canberra Music Tuition. It is open to any child or parent wanting to learn to play a musical instrument. Tuition fees vary according to the type of instrument and whether the lesson is group or individual. More details can be found at www.canberramusictuition.com.au
